Achievements in the space field.

Since 1986, Dactem has devoted its human and physical potential to supplying turnkey Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). We have produced EGSE with numerous special features, but they are mainly distinguished by being highly modulable and by an ongoing quest for standardisation, simplicity and future-proofing. This permanent concern has lead to the birth of particularly innovative and reliable families of products and architectures, with remarkable performance, optimised costs and achieved deadlines. Dactem’s principal expertise is applied to test benches for on-board equipment and test and integration benches for satellite payloads.

On-board equipment tests

In particular, Dactem has made:

• The test benches for PIU Eutelsat, Télécom 2 and Worldstar.

• The test benches for power distribution and TM//TC units for the SB3000 and SB4000 platforms.

• The test benches for on-board computers for the SB4000 platform.

• Test benches for electronic equipment related to attitude control such as plasmic motors, stellar sensors or magnetic bearing-type wheels.

Payload integration tests

These test benches are mainly developed to conduct independent tests and integration tests on satellite payloads. Dactem thus created:

• The ground support equipment for the Méphisto experiment.

• The Topex Poséidon integration bench.

• The SCOE Image and AOCS for the Meteosat satellite.

• The SPOT4 platform simulator for the Vegetation payload.

• Simulators for the Doris beacons.

• The test and integration benches for the Doris instrument on the TOPEX, SPOT3 and SPOT4, ENVISAT, JASON and SPOT5/HELIOS2 satellites. These benches are used both to test the Doris instrument independently and to perform integration trials on satellite.

Acquisition and data processing systems

Dactem has taken part in scientific experiments such as PRONAOS and MARS96 by developing on-board equipment on balloons:

• Intelligent communication and data acquisition boards.

• Intelligent and fault-tolerant sequencer equipment.

Three ranges of modular products

To make test benches, Dactem has three “own” product families in its catalogue that are the result of over fifteen years’ experience:

• OBDH Controller, OBDH simulators and bus analysers available as 19” IEEE rack or as PCI card.
• MACS Controller, slave simulators and bus analysers available as PCI card.
• A large set of TM/TC boards available in VME/VXI or PCI format for generating remote commands or acquiring remote measurements.

You will find details of these products in the site’s “space applications” section or by contacting the nearest Dactem site.
